De Rose Winery was the third stop of the day. The San Andreas runs throught hte middle of the property causing some interesting offsets on the property.
The nice folks at "California's Oldest WInery" have graciously let MJC geology students check out their fault over the years.
Laura straddles the San Andreas fault that bisects the winery. This section creeps at a rate of several cm per year with a right-lateral motion.
An offset drainage culvert. The right-lateral offset is quite evident in the photo.
Oooh, I'm bridging the San Andreas Fault!
Laura stands directly on the fault trace.
And what would a trip to the DeRose Winery be without checking-out the amazing structural damage that the creep is causing.
A few gratuitous shots of the beautiful grape leaves in their autumnal glory at DeRose Winery.
